About
1705 Royal Canadian Army Cadets, based in Vernon, BC, is a proud youth program that builds leadership, confidence, and community spirit through challenge and adventure. We give young people ages 12 to 18 the opportunity to develop practical skills, discipline, and teamwork while exploring the outdoors, engaging in citizenship activities, and learning what it means to serve with integrity and pride. Our corps is built on the belief that leadership isn’t about rank, it’s about character, courage, and the willingness to step up for others.

Through local training nights, field exercises, community service, and national summer camps, our cadets grow into strong, capable individuals who bring their learning back into their schools, families, and communities. 1705 is more than just a program, it’s a place where lifelong friendships are formed, mentors guide youth toward their potential, and every cadet learns that leadership begins with self-respect and ends in service to others.

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.
Our Mission
The aim of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promote physical fitness; and stimulate the interest of youth in the sea, land, and air activities of the Canadian Forces.

Our Vision
At 1705 Army Cadets, our vision is to empower youth to become confident, capable leaders who serve their community with integrity and pride. Through challenge, teamwork, and adventure, we aim to inspire a generation that leads with courage, compassion, and respect for both tradition and the future.
